Yellow Brick Road
03:26
|
|||
Around the corner the wind blew back
Follow the yellow brick road
It ended up in black on black
I was taught the gift of love
Smiling children painted joy
Sunshine bright girl and boy
Bag of tricks and candy sticks
Peppermint kite for my toy
Yellow brick black on black
Keep on walking and don't look back
I walked along happy and them came back
I follow the yellow brick road
Lost and found I saw you down
On the bound off the bound
Taught the gift of love
Yellow brick road took my load
Sunshine girl sunshine girl come to my abode
One, two, three, four, five miles long
Oh I can't ever go wrong
Clouds were gray yesterday
Down on my shoulder it's time to play
Yellow brick black on black
Keep on walking and don't look back

Nobody Told Me
03:45
|
|||
Everybody's talking and no one says a word
Everybody's making love and no one really cares
There's Nazis in the bathroom just below the stairs
Always something happening and nothing going on
There's always something cooking and nothing in the pot
They're starving back in China so finish what you got
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Strange days indeed -- strange days indeed
Everybody's runnin' and no one makes a move
Everyone's a winner and nothing left to lose
There's a little yellow idol to the north of Katmandu
Everybody's flying and no one leaves the ground
Everybody's crying and no one makes a sound
There's a place for us in the movies you just gotta lay around
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Strange days indeed -- most peculiar, mama
Everybody's smoking and no one's getting high
Everybody's flying and never touch the sky
There's a UFO over New York and I ain't too surprised
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Strange days indeed -- most peculiar, mama

From A Buick 6
03:59
|
|||
I got this graveyard woman, you know she keeps my kid
But my soulful mama, you know she keeps me hid
She’s a junkyard angel and she always gives me bread
Well, if I go down dyin’, you know she bound to put a blanket on my bed.
Well, when the pipeline gets broken and I’m lost on the river bridge
I’m cracked up on the highway and on the water’s edge
She comes down the thruway ready to sew me up with thread
Well, if I go down dyin’, you know she bound to put a blanket on my bed.
Well, she don’t make me nervous, she don’t talk too much
She walks like Bo Diddley and she don’t need no crutch
She keeps this four-ten all loaded with lead
Well, if I go down dyin’, you know she bound to put a blanket on my bed.
Well, you know I need a steam-roller baby to keep away the dead
I need a dump truck baby to unload my head
She brings me everything and more, and just like I said
Well, if I go down dyin’, you know she bound to put a blanket on my bed.

I'm So Tired
02:15
|
|||
I'm so tired, I haven't slept a wink
I'm so tired, my mind is on the blink
I wonder should I get up and fix myself a drink
No, no, no
I'm so tired, I don't know what to do
I'm so tired, my mind is set on you
I wonder should I call you but I know what you would do
You'd say I'm putting you on
But it's no joke, it's doing me harm
You know I can't sleep, I can't stop my brain
You know it's three weeks, I'm going insane
You know I'd give you everything I've got
For a little peace of mind
I'm so tired, I'm feeling so upset
Although I'm so tired, I'll have another cigarette
And curse Sir Walter Raleigh
He was such a stupid get
You'd say I'm putting you on
But it's no joke, it's doing me harm
You know I can't sleep, I can't stop my brain
You know it's three weeks, I'm going insane
You know I'd give you everything I've got
For a little peace of mind
I'd give you everything I've got
For a little peace of mind
I'd give you everything I've got
For a little peace of mind

Plastic Factory
03:15
|
|||
Phos'phrous chimney burnin'
Modern man's a-learnin'
Time and space a-turnin'
Motor's engine churnin'
Factory's no place for me
Boss man let me be
Wind 'n’ waves a-blowin’
Mountain 'n' sky a-showin’
Bee 'n’ flower growin’
Boy 'n’ girl a-glowin’
Factory's no place for me
Boss man let me be
Mind 'n’ sight a-goin’
Muscle 'n’ bone a-showin”
One thing sure I’m knowin’
Get a fire goin’
Factory’s no place for me
Boss man leave me be

Pledging My Time
03:33
|
|||
Well, early in the mornin’
’Til late at night
I got a poison headache
But I feel all right
I’m pledging my time
To you
Hopin’ you’ll come through too
Well, the hobo jumped up
And it came down naturally
After he stole my baby
Then he wanted to steal me
But I’m pledging my time
To you
Hopin’ you’ll come through too
Won’t you come with me, babe?
I’ll take you where you wanna go
And if it don’t work out
You’ll be the first to know
I’m pledging my time
To you
Hopin’ you’ll come through too
Well, the room is so stuffy
I can hardly breathe
Everybody’s gone but me and you
And I can’t be the last to leave
I’m pledging my time
To you
Hopin’ you’ll come through too
Well, they sent for the ambulance
And one was sent
Somebody got lucky
But it was an accident
Now I’m pledging my time
To you
Hopin’ you’ll come through too

Going Up The Country
03:02
|
|||
I'm going up the country, don't you wanna go
I'm going up the country, don't you wanna go
I'm going to some place where I've never been before
I'm going, I'm going where the water tastes like wine
I'm going where the water tastes like wine
We can jump in the water, stay drunk all the time
I'm gonna leave this city, got to get away
I'm gonna leave this city, got to get away
All this fussing and fighting, man, you know I just can't stay
Now, baby pack your leaving trunk, we got to leave today
Just exactly where we going I can not say but
We might even leave the U.S.A.
'Cause there's a brand new game, and I want to play
No use in you running or screaming and crying
'Cause you got a home as long as I've got mine

You Got The Silver
02:51
|
|||
Hey babe, what's in your eyes?
I saw them flashing like airplane lights
You fill my cup, babe, that's for sure
I must come back
For a little more
You got my heart, you got my soul
You got the silver, you got the gold
You got the diamonds, from the mine
Well that's all right
It'll buy some time
Tell me, honey, what will I do
When I'm hungry and thirsty too
Feeling foolish and that's for sure
Just waiting here
At your kitchen door?
Hey baby, what's in your eyes?
Is that the diamonds from the mine?
What's that laughing in your smile?
I don't care,
No, I don't care
Oh babe, you got my soul
You got the silver, you got the gold
You got your love, just leave me blind
I don't care
No, that's no big surprise

You say you love me and you're
Thinkin’ of me, but you
Know you could be wrong
You say you told me that you
Wanna hold me, but you
Know you’re not that strong
I just can’t do what I done before
I just can’t beg you anymore
I’m gonna let you pass
And I’ll go last
Then time will tell just who fell
And who’s been left behind
When you go your way and I go mine
You say you disturb me and you
Don’t deserve me but you
Know sometimes you lie
You say you’re shakin’ and you're
Always achin’, but you
Know how hard you try
Sometimes it gets so hard to care
It can’t be this way everywhere
I’m gonna let you pass
Yes, and I’ll go last
Then time will tell just who fell
And who’s been left behind
When you go your way and I go mine
The judge, he holds a grudge
He’s gonna call on you
But he’s badly built and he walks on stilts
Watch out he don’t fall on you
You say you’re sorry for
Tellin’ stories that you
Know I believe are true
You say you got some other
Kinda lover and yes, I believe you do
You say my kisses are not like his
But this time I’m not gonna tell you why that is
I’m just gonna let you pass
Yes, and I’ll go last
Then time will tell just who fell
And who’s been left behind
When you go your way and I go mine
